Prosecutor:

William Marchi

Auburn
California

William Marchi was a Deputy District Attorney for Placer County in northern California.

He prosecuted Shawn Rodriguez in 2003 in Placer County case number 62-034689, and employed a win at all costs style he engaged in throughout his whole career.

*He repeatedly used what he knew to be perjured testimony

*He threatened a witness with prosecution he knew he could not undertake in order to intimidate her off of the witness stand and prevent her from testifying to what she saw because he knew it contradicted the perjury he knowingly elicited

*He visited the victim witness in jail and told him what to say and showed him a map of the building to show him what story made sense

*When the victim testified to this fact Mr. Marchi screamed “shut up!” at him across the courtroom to avoid being outed for his misconduct, and this appears in the transcript

*He prosecuted Shawn for the crime of kidnapping while he knew Shawn was not even around during the crime

*He made clever use of charges to trick  the jury into finding me guilty of a 7-life crime instead of a 6month misdemeanor due to their belief that Shawn’s conduct was not violent, by avoiding charging me with simple false imprisonment, knowing that when presented with the one year felony false imprisonment by “violence, menace, fraud or deceit” the jury would opt instead for the other seemingly nonviolent simple kidnapping charge, in the absence of violence

*He either tampered with or knowingly made use of tampered with evidence, by playing the jury a recorded interview that had been cut/erased more than 90 times in an hour to erase or omit whatever did not fit the theory being used to prosecute Shawn

*He his the first 2 letters the victim sent admitting that he committed perjury to send Shawn to prison for life, only admitting he received them after the victim wrote letters the the California Attorney General saying the same thing and it became clear Shawn would put up a fight
